Cucurbit Mosaic was originally designed as an annual neurocosmetic folkstory to be told on (x)mass. The stories all involve an allusion to the 'homunculus', briefly describe a secular x-mas festivity, and a reference to the vegetal disease afflicting cucumbers, melons and gourds--'cucurbit mosaic'. Cucurbit Mosaic is also a series of virtual speculative fictions written by various members of the Meme-Rider Media Team. There are about eight authors working under several different fictitious modes. There are shared identities, such as F. Austin Love, Elder identities (non-Meme-Riders who work as threshold guardians) such as Lord Kevin, the Uncanny, multiple identities, where the Meme-Riders collectively write under one assumed name, etc.
